Rembrandt Bugatti "Famille de bouquetins" Bronze Sculpture
Rembrandt Bugatti’s "Famille de bouquetins" also known as "Family of Ibexes" depicts a touching scene where a male Alpine ibex stands protectively over his mate and child. The musculature of each animal is meticulously detailed, with hatching between each bone and sinew. The male ibex stands proudly at the right side of the piece, his curved, majestic horns sweeping back in an impressive display of strength and virility. His stance is solid and protective, muscles rendered with lifelike precision under the textured bronze surface. The patina on his horns and coat catches the light, giving depth and contrast to the piece. Beside him, the female ibex is depicted in a slightly more relaxed pose, her body positioned to suggest nurturing. She gazes attentively towards her young. Together, they create a powerful and tender composition that captures the essence of a familial bond.
